Minneapolis Jewish Humor Festival presents An American Vaudeville presented by The Grand Falloons
Classic Vaudeville and silent film comedy were born from "The Other" – also known commonly as “the Jew” – in the real world of Americans; i.e. Charlie Chaplin, The Marx Brothers, Sophie Tucker, etc. An American Vaudeville was originally commissioned by the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. This wildly exuberant vaudeville, written and performed by veterans of NYC’s Big Apple Circus, Stephen Ringold and Kim Winslow, is also a superb, living history of the era and the entertainment forms that are the origins of modern popular culture. “A Chaplinesque performance” (New York Times).
Recommended for all ages.
