St. George's choir will present a Festival Evensong for Christ the King, at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 24, at St. George's Episcopal Church, 5224 Minnetonka Boulevard, St. Louis Park, 55416.
The Evensong liturgical format is one of Anglicanism's signature contributions to the world of church music. Featured will be Franz Schubert's lyrically beautiful Mass in G Major. St. George's musicians will be joined by singers from its resident guest choir, Mostly Madrigals.
At 3:30 p.m., guest violinist 16-year old Benjamin Brashear will play a short violin concert. Music will include compositions by Sir Edward Elgar, J.S. Bach, and G.F. Handel.
A reception will follow.
