KARE 11 Anchor Runs Over Spike Strip, Gets 3 Flat Ties

You can't blame Minnesota's rising population of potholes on this bizarre incident.

TWIN CITIES, MN — You can't blame Minnesota's rising population of potholes on this incident. KARE 11 Sunrise anchor Alicia Lewis had three tires go flat while driving to work at 3 a.m. Friday.

Like most of us, Lewis blamed the flat tires on the miniature craters located across many of the major roads this spring.

"Not one, not two... BUT THREE FLAT TIRES!?" she told Twitter. "How does this even happen!? 394 EB this morning has a few potholes... but this is bizarre!"

She noted that her tires were only a year old.

As it turns out, there was a different culprit. Lewis later tweeted that she ran over a spike strip while police were looking for a suspect.
