Mama's Happy on Grand Celebrates Relocation With Open House on Saturday, February 7 in new Space on St. Paul's Grand Avenue

Mama’s Happy celebrates the relocation of its store Mama’s Happy on Grand, its home décor, vintage furniture, and gift store on Grand Avenue in St. Paul, with a public open house at the store 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015. The new location of Mama’s Happy on Grand is 1128 Grand Avenue, St. Paul, MN, near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Lexington Parkway. The store, previously located at 844 Grand Avenue, opened for business in its new location on January 26.

The open house provides a festive opportunity to see the new space, meet store owner Amanda Ficek, and talk with artisans, self-dubbed “The Mamas,” who create the upcycled, hand-refinished furniture, inspired home decor, and gifts sold at the store. The event showcases demonstrations of the popular Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® 101 Workshop. Open house guests can try out the specialty paint by helping paint a piece of furniture or decorative items that Mama’s Happy will donate to the Sojourner Project, a Twin Cities non-profit organization that provides support and safe shelter to women and children.

The celebration includes goodies from Bread & Chocolate and prize drawings for Mama’s Happy gift certificates, merchandise, and event tickets to upcoming Mama’s Happy events like the March tour of Mama’s Happy founder and owner Amanda Ficek’s decorated and renovated residence on the upper level of a 1894-built creamery in Independence and the May Mama’s Happy bus tour and luncheon.

“We love Grand Avenue and can’t wait to welcome our customers to the new Mama’s Happy on Grand location,” says owner Amanda Ficek, “This new space is perfect for our ever-changing displays, and I know our customers will love walking through it, brainstorming ideas and finding just the right thing.”
