Men Traded Cigarettes For Oral Sex With 14-Year-Old Girl: Charges

Two men allegedly traded cigarettes to an underage girl at a Minnetonka convenience store in exchange for sex.

Two men who worked at a Minnetonka convenience store and who allegedly sold cigarettes to an underage girl in exchange for sex have been charged with prostitution and sexual assault. Deandre Boyd, 21, of St. Louis Park was charged with third and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, promoting prostitution and prostitution of a 13 to 15 year old.

Jammie Lee, 44, of Minnetonka, was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct and prostitution of a 13 to 15 year old. Boyd was expected to make his first appearance at 1:30 p.m. Thursday and Lee is expected to make his first appearance Friday. A third suspect is being sought, according to a news release.

“Sex-trafficking ranges from organized rings to the kind of activities we have charged here,” Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said in a statement. “In this case, we are alleging that Mr. Boyd took advantage of a young girl and her desire for cigarettes in order to have sexual contacts and then helped his friends do the same. We are using new resources from the Hennepin County Board to crack down on these kinds of crimes.”

According to the criminal complaint, Boyd was a clerk at a Minnetonka gas station in December when a 14-year-old girl came in wanting to buy cigarettes. Boyd noted she was underage, but he would sell her the cigarettes if she would expose her breasts, police say.

She agreed and he took her into a back hallway by the bathrooms where there were no cameras. She exposed herself and he fondled her, authorities say.

The next time she returned, Boyd required her to perform oral sex on him in the woman’s bathroom in order to get the cigarettes, which she did, the complaint states.

Another time she returned to the store, Lee was working. He said he was interested in her. She agreed to oral sex with him and received the cigarettes and soft drinks in exchange, according to the complaint.

Neither man works for the store now, police say.
