"Thank you for your cooperation Saturday, May 30, in honoring the curfew and assisting by reporting information and suspicious activity to the St. Louis Park Police Department.

The police department answered more than 180 calls for service overnight Saturday into Sunday, which is double the daily average. Nevertheless, there were no serious incidents related to the unrest in Minneapolis. On another note, residents should be assured that the St. Louis Park Police Department is aware that activists and extremists from outside the state are staying in metro area hotels. The police department is closely monitoring activity at St. Louis Park hotels as a result.

The St. Louis Park Police Department’s community-oriented policing model relies on a trusted partnership between the police department and the community, and that was on full display last night. Understanding that the impetus for this activity was the unjust death of George Floyd, our police department will continue its work on building trust in the community and helping to dismantle the systems of racism that contributed to current events.

We need your help again tonight. Please honor the 8 p.m. curfew and continue to report suspicious activity to the non-emergency number at 952.924.2618 or by calling 911. Thank you."
