Obama Admin Failed to Block 'Anti-Israel' Resolution: Rep. Erik Paulsen

Congressman Erik Paulsen condemned the Obama Administration for not blocking what he called an "anti-Israel" resolution.

On Friday, the Obama Administration abstained from voting on a United Nations Security Council resolution condemning Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territories. Republican Congressman Erik Paulsen, who represents Minnesota's 3rd Congressional District, condemned the Obama Administration's failure to veto what he called an "anti-Israel" resolution.

"Today's move by the Obama Administration to not veto this UN Security Council Resolution defies a long-standing tradition of blocking one sided, anti-Israel resolutions," Paulsen said in a statement.

"The issue of settlements should be addressed through bilateral negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians, not in a body that has a long history of undermining the only Jewish state. I stand with our ally, Israel, and in strong opposition to the Administration's decision."

Paulson has represented the 3rd District since 2009. In November, he defeated Democrat Terri Bonoff to keep his seat in the U.S. House.
