Patch Picks: Choice Mexican Restaurants

Try these south-of-the-border restaurants here in St. Louis Park.

In a state just south of Canada you can find an incredible amount of foods from a country just south of Texas. St. Louis Park is within reach of all of the Twin Cities' best south-of-the-border dining options. In case you don't want to drive very far, Patch gives you its picks for 5 tasty Mexican restaurants here in town:

Fitting right in at West End, Rojo is quite a bit nicer than a taco stand. Also, ever had a jalapeno margarita? We hadn't either. Until we stopped by, that is.

If you ever watch "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" on the Food Network, you know that hidden foodie gems can be found in obscure locations. El Gordo features authentic Mexican dishes in its unassuming Knollwood Mall location.

While nothing out of the ordinary can be found on Baja's menu, the perk is the free, help-yourself chips and salsa bar that comes with your meal purchase.

Not a very "local" Mexican joint, but still quite delicious. For less then $7 you can order a plump, almost football-sized burrito that claims to be packed with local veggies.

Riding on the coattails of Chipotle, Qdoba is the slightly younger, less reputable cousin. Features similar-sized burritos, as well a vegetarian nachos option that will make your mouth water.
