St. Louis Park 2017 Ward Elections: Meet The Candidates
Residents in all four St. Louis Park wards will vote for their council member at the Nov. 7 general election.

ST. LOUIS PARK, MN — In 2017, four St. Louis Park city offices will be on the ballot: council member in wards one through four. Residents will vote for their ward representative at the Nov. 7 general election.
The mayoral seat and the city's two at-large ward seats are not on the ballot this year.
Who are the city ward candidates? The following individuals will appear on the 2017 General Election ballot in St. Louis Park:

Council member, Ward One
- Margaret Rog
- Work experience: Birchwood Neighborhood Association, Peter Hobart PTO, St. Louis Park Friends of the Arts, St. Louis Park High School Band and Theater Booster Clubs
- Primary issues: Schools, civic engagement, community health
- Brian Shekleton
- Work experience: Board of the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District, SLP Community Youth and Development Fund
- Primary issues: Road safety, neighborhood livability, developments
Council member, Ward Two

- Anne Mavity (Incumbent)
- Work experience: U.S. Agency for International Development, Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative
- Primary issues: Sustainability, equity, community safety
- Noelle Racette
- Work experience: Minnesota Army National Guard, jr. high teacher in Burnsville, Saint Paul, Minnesota Army National Guard
- Primary issues: Ad hoc Committees, affordable housing, development, environment, road maintenance
Council member, Ward Three
- Rachel Harris
- Work experience: St. Louis Park Environment and Sustainability Commission, Champion of Health in the Park, St. Louis Park Vision 3.0 Steering Team, Partners for a Strong Park leadership team
- Primary issues: environment, transportation, affordable housing,
- Jim Leuthner
- Work experience: middle school science teacher for Saint Paul Public Schools, city forester of Minnetonka, Carpenters Union, Political Action Committee Treasurer for the Carpenters Local 322 and Local 1644,
- Primary issues: transit, affordable housing, ranked choice voting, environment, development
Council member, Ward Four
- Tim Brausen (Incumbent) (Unopposed)
- Work experience: General practice attorney, Sherburne County Attorney’s Office
- Primary issues: Southwest Light Rail Transit Line, proposed freight train re-route, transit, affordable housing, economic development, environmental, racial equity, diversity
