St. Louis Park-Based Granite City to Launch Bottled Beer Line

The bottles will hit Twin Cities shelves next month.

, the St. Louis Park-based casual restaurant and brew pub chain that now has 26 locations in 11 states, announced Tuesday that it would begin selling a bottled beer line.

The restaurant is known for brewing it's own beer on-site for sale to guests, but this marks the company's first attempt at distributing its products on a larger scale. Starting in April, three of Granite City's most popular beers — Northern Light Lager, Duke of Wellington India Pale Ale and Brother Benedict’s Bock — will be on retail shelves throughout the Upper Midwest.

"We are very pleased to build on our strategy of providing our handcrafted beer to our loyal customers in locations outside of our restaurants," said Granite City president and founder Steve Wagenheim. Earlier this month, Granite City announced that its beer would be available at the Xcel Energy Center during Minnesota Wild games.
