St. Louis Park To Join Just Deeds Project

More information will be available in the coming months about the City of St. Louis Park's participation in the Just Deeds Project.

March 25, 2021

The City of St. Louis Park will be joining the Just Deeds Project, an effort to discharge discriminatory covenants embedded in property titles.

Discriminatory covenants have been illegal and unenforceable since the passage of the Fair Housing Act in 1968. However, discharging of discriminatory covenants from a property title is an important step in recognizing and dismantling systemic racism in housing. It also is an opportunity for communities to acknowledge their racist history and to pursue reconciliation and solutions that create equity in housing.
