St. Louis Park School Put on 'Shelter-In-Place' After Home Burglaries
Susan Lindgren Elementary School was put "on shelter in place" as police searched for suspects connected to multiple home burglaries.
An elementary school was placed on "shelter-in-place" Thursday as police searched for two burglary suspects.
Residents may have seen heightened police activity today as the St. Louis Park Police Department searched for one of two burglary suspects involved in attempted home burglaries on Thursday, Sept. 22, in the neighborhood of Minikahda Vista.
One suspect is in custody; police are no longer actively searching for the second suspect, according to a news release.

Susan Lindgren Elementary School was placed on shelter-in-place as a precautionary measure as police conducted their search; the school has since returned to business as usual.
Shelter-in-place means officials choose a small room with few or no windows and so people can take refuge there. It is not the same as a lockdown.

As a matter of routine safety, residents are advised to lock their doors, windows and garages.
