St. Louis Park Seeks for Volunteers to Rake Leaves from Drains

Raking leaves from curbs and storm drains during the fall is an important way to keep local waterways clean, officials say.

St. Louis Park city staff are looking for residents who would like to volunteer to help keep local waterways clean and leaf-free. You can make a difference by raking your leaves from curbs and storm drains this fall with Freshwater Society’s Community Clean Up for Water Quality event.

Leaves and organic debris from streets and sidewalks can flow through storm sewers into lakes and streams. The leaves and other material contain phosphorus, nitrogen and soil are significant pollutants, according to a news release.

You can volunteer solo or sign up with your neighbors here.
