Three Minnesota Republicans were onboard a train that crashed into a truck in Virginia Wednesday.

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA — Minnesota Republican Jason Lewis is suffered a concussion after a train carrying him and other Republican lawmakers to a GOP retreat crashed into a truck in Virginia Wednesday. The collision caused minor injuries onboard the train and reportedly killed one person on the truck and critically injured another.

Lewis was hospitalized following the crash, his staff said on Twitter:

Due to the impact of the train collision and as per standard concussion protocol, Rep. Lewis is going to be checked out at a local hospital.
Rep. Lewis wants folks to know the following: 'I'm fine compared to, tragically, the truck drivers, and thankful for the prompt action of our doctors and first responders. My thoughts are with the family of the individual who passed away.'

Lewis was taken to the UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville and was discharged Wednesday afternoon. His office confirmed he suffered a concussion but said he travelled onto the GOP retreat and looks forward to participating in it "as much as he is able."
