Upcoming Highway 100 Weekend Closure

Officials are asking motorists to plan for extra driving time and to use Highway 169 and Interstate 35W as alternate routes.

Residents in the west metro should plan for extra driving time and be prepared to use alternate routes this weekend. Beginning 10:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, both directions of Highway 100 between Interstate 394 in Golden Valley and Highway 62 in Edina will close, weather permitting.

The highway ramps along this route will also close starting at 9:00 p.m. The road and ramps will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, according to a news release.

After the weekend closure, Highway 100 between Minnetonka Boulevard and Excelsior Boulevard will remain two lanes in each direction and the Highway 7 bridge will remain closed.

Crews anticipate reopening the 36th Street exit to northbound Highway 100 and the southbound Highway 100 ramp to 36th Street soon after the weekend closure.

The Highway 7 bridge will reopen in late October.
