Voices from the Passion

The choir of St. George’s Episcopal Church will present the sacred cantata, “Voices from the Passion,” by Minnesota composer Ronald A. Nelson. The program will also include the concluding chorus from J. S. Bach’s “St. Matthew Passion.” Organist and Choirmaster Randall Egan will direct.

Preceding the cantata, 17-year-old virtuoso violinist Benjamin Brashear will be featured in a mini-recital of music by Shostakovich, Borowski, Albinoni and Schubert. Brashear is a protégé of Erin Keefe, Minnesota Orchestra concertmaster.

The event is free and open, with refreshments to follow. For additional information, call 612-377-4450 or send an email to eganmusic@earthlink.net.
