Why am I running for City Council?

My name is Gregg Lindberg, and I am running for St Louis Park City Council, serving the Ward 3 Neighborhoods of Amhurst, Minnehaha, Cobblecrest, Aquila, Texa-Tonka, Oak Hill, and Lennox.

Many neighbors have asked, ‘Why are you running for City Council?’  The answer is fairly simple. St Louis Park has been my lifelong home, and it is where we plan to stay.  My wife Amy and I chose to buy and fix up a modest Texa-Tonka rambler – and now with our daughter Haley, the Park will be home to the next generation of Lindbergs.

My run for City Council is solely about my love for St Louis Park – our neighborhoods, diversity, innovative spirit and care for youth.  It has nothing to do with politics – in fact, I have no aspirations for higher office or connections to political insiders.

I do bring valuable experience, and I am ready to work for you and our neighbors in Ward 3.  As an active community leader, I have worked to organize and support near-come neighborhoods, served on the Community Education Advisory Council, the Parktacular Board of Directors, and the Community Recreation Task Force.

Educated in Public Administration, I understand the policy issues facing our City.  As a public employee myself, I also understand the challenges of providing superior public service.  With these skills, I seek to gain your support as your next Ward 3 City Council representative.

The bottom line is I care about St Louis Park and I care about working hard for you.  The issues that are important to you are those very issues that are important to me.  Over the coming weeks, I look forward to getting to know you, hearing your perspectives, and gaining your trust and support as your next City Council representative.
