Albertville visits Lakeville and Isanti!

Wednesday July 10th, 2013, the Albertville royalty attended Lakeville coronation. It was a long drive down, but I didn't mind because I love my partners in crown. As we pulled up we noticed there were basically no cars. Turns out we were an hour early. Alyssa Gallagher, a committee member and one of our chaperones for the night, said "You know you are early when you beat the Aquatennial." The pagent was nice, the girls were beautiful and friendly, but what made the night most memorable was our trip to McDonalds. Since we had an hour to kill, and the other girls were hungry, we traveled down the road to the Mac Shack. We were jokingly holding the doors for each other, and I was the first to make it into the building. As I turned around I saw a young lady with down syndrome cleaning the tables. When her eyes met my crown, her towel and jaw dropped. Then she spotted the other two and the most heart warming smile spread across her face. I introduced myself, and then my fellow royalty. She thought we here the bees knees. She was so welcoming and friendly, and just so darn cute! I am so honored to have these kind of experiences.
The day after we had a parade in Isanti. It fell around dinner time, so we decided to have a little pot luck. My mom put down the tailgate on the truck, spread the food around, and everyone ate as they pleased. It was really fun to just stand around and eat and talk. Jacob, one of our juniors, wanted spray cheese. Boy, did we struggle, but we got the cheese on the cracker. The big thing about that parade was all the horses. It was western themed, and we were lucky enough to be right by the 4-H club. The little ones had a blast meeting some horses. It was a hot day, but luckily the parade was later and about the time we were in line, it cooled off. Isanti was a lovely parade, with lovely people. Thank you Lakeville and Isanti for having us!!
