Blank Makes A Winner Out Of Knights Softball Team

After taking Wednesday off, several St. Michael-Albertville sports squads returned to competition on Thursday as a recent stretch of comfortable weather made games a pleasurable experience for participants and fans alike.

Softball: Knights 4, Buffalo 3

Kelsey Blank's two-out single in the bottom of the ninth inning scored Rachel Hackenmueller with the winning run as the St. Michael-Albertville softball team defeated visiting Buffalo, 4-3.

Buffalo entered the game without a loss on the season and led the Mississippi 8 Conference with an 8-0 record, yet could not overcome the Knights as Blank went 2-for-4 with three runs batted in on the afternoon.

STMA improved to 7-5 overall and 7-4 in the conference standings with the win and are now in fourth-place in the Mississippi 8.

Baseball: Buffalo 16, St. Michael-Albertville 3

The St. Michael-Albertville baseball team fell to visiting Buffalo, 16-3, in five innings.

Tyler Dallum recorded the only RBI of the game for the Knights, with Shawn Morris, Brian Lavallee and Dallum scoring the home team's three runs.

STMA, 7-5 overall and 7-4 in the Mississippi 8, hosts St. Thomas Academy in a non-conference matchup on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

Boys Tennis: Becker 5, St. Michael-Albertville 2

A 5-2 loss to Becker dropped the St. Michael-Albertville boys tennis team to 5-7 overall and 3-2 in the conference standings. Individual statistics were not available.

Boys Golf: Knights Seventh In Mississippi 8 Meet

The St. Michael-Albertville boys golf team took seventh in a Mississippi 8 meet at Pebble Creek Golf Course with a team score of 326. Individual statistics were not available.

Results for the Ed Bourelle Invitational track and field meet at St. Michael-Albertville High School were not currently available and will be updated when received.
