I am raising children and taking taking care of parents? How life changes!

I was supposed to start blogging last year but how life changes directions.  My last year has been filled with raising my two teenage daughters and caring for my 90-year-old grandmother.   My grandmother has recently passed away leaving me many wonderful moments of teaching and memories.  Her passing also reinforces how many of us are balancing children and caring for our parents or grandparents. 

I was more fortunate than many families as I work in the aging services industry.  I know how the system works and the resources available.  Many families do not have this advantage.  My goal is to help people through this blog realize they are not alone, not without help, and much of the resources they need are free.  Topics I can cover are: When should I get my parent's/grandparent's help?, Who should I call?, How do I talk to my them about planning for aging?... and so much more.

I welcome questions from readers and I will work to inform you of how to care for your aging parents or grandparents.  Residents of the St. Michael and Albertville area are very fortunate to live in an area and state that is rich in senior resources and information.
