Last week I attended the funeral for my 48 year old cousin, Julie. Julie had Down's Syndrome and was able to live at home with her mother all of her life. She received great care and support from her extended family and friends for her entire life.
As we gathered for her service I could see her bright smile and great joy for life. Every time our family got together for reunions and other gatherings Julie was at the center of all the action. Her vivacious personality and love of God changed lives.
Who are those people around you or those events in your life who have changed you in some way?

Through your church or faith community, God surrounds you with people who have strong faith, inspiring lives, and words that can and do change us. Somehow in the power of the Holy Spirit, our Lord is at work in everyone around us.
Remember the last person who said you were in his or her thoughts and prayers? The last smile of joy and happiness? The last time someone got really direct with you and challenged you in some way that helped you to grow. The last time you felt the love of Jesus surrounding you as you worshipped and served with your friends in Christ.
