Marksman Metals, Representative David FitzSimmons Honored at I-94 West Chamber Awards

A prominent St. Michael business, Marksman Metals Company, and Representative David FitzSimons were honored Thursday morning at the annual I-94 West Chamber of Commerce Business & Community Excellence Awards.

The Business and Community Excellence Awards recognize and honor area businesses, organizations, and community leaders that have had a positive impact on the I-94 West Region in the last year.  Nominations were submitted by Chamber Members and other local business leaders.

The Awards were presented during a breakfast April 18 at the Crown Room at the Wellstead of Rogers, which featured a keynote address by Jack Hines, recipient of the 2012 Lifetime Excellence Award.

Pete Scharber, owner and President, accepted the Manufacturing Excellence Awards on behalf of Marksman Metals Company.  Scharber was born and raised in Rogers and relocated Marksman Metals to its current location in St. Michael 22 years ago. Marksman Metals is a world class provider of precision metal products.

David FitzSimmons, a resident of Albertville, received the Excellence in Local Government Award. Representative FitzSimmons was elected to represent District 30B in the Minnesota House of Representatives, which includes St. Michael, Albertville, Otsego, Hanover, and the Wright County portion of Dayton.

Other Award recipients included Graco, Inc., Missing GRACE Foundation, and Signature School of Music, all located in Rogers; Shorty Dorweiler of Farmers State Bank of Hamel and the Hamel Rodeo received the Lifetime Excellence Award.
