Missionaries In Training
Training has certainly been busy, but I am so glad that the Lord is calling me out of myself to serve and lead others closer to Him! I've met so many people, and am playing lots of guitar too!

What is God’s favorite Guitar Chord?

Being now a "missionary in training," I never thought I would have so much to learn before setting out on October 1st. We won’t leave for weeks, but the week so far that I have spent in training has been so much growth, busyness and certainly a lot fun!
In the first four days alone we have learned over 84 songs, slept on average less than 7 hours per night and spend many hours in prayer every day! Though training with all the 120 other missionaries won’t begin until Thursday, many relationships have been building and friendships beginning. There are so many amazing and holy people everywhere you look and what has seemed to really unite us all is our love for God.

This year myself and 35 other missionaries arrived at the NET Center early to begin training for Musicians on the road, with 10 days of intense guitar lessons, really teaching us how to play for the Lord and make it a prayer too. The reason NET needs musicians is due to its deep roots in the Charismatic Renewal which St. Michael may be more familiar with in the 6pm Sunday Masses at the St. Michael Catholic Church. I have learned so much in such a short amount of time! Many have come knowing nothing about guitar too! Everyone’s background is different. I have really seen great improvement in my ability to transition chords and strumming, but we all have things to work at.
It’s also been beautiful to hear all the stories and tell people about my hometown. A lot of people have asked me about where I have grown up and my home parish and it’s so exciting to tell them about the great town we really do have! Many have come to NET training from all over the United States. One young woman is even from Scotland, but I feel like our diversity in our upbringings, likes and personalities really bring us together. Though I am missing STMA and my family like crazy, I’m so glad to be able to serve the Lord and give back to our world.

Prayer Intentions: (If you would like, I would especially like prayers for)
- The Missionaries who will be coming to training on Thursday, that they will arrive safely and feel a sense of peace in their hearts amongst so many emotions.
- All the Staff on NET and those who will be training us.
- The 75,000 Teens and Families we will encounter this next 9 months.
- My Great Grandmother Ethel; that she may rest in Christ’s loving arms.
