Now,I honestly do not know where to begin in this blog. I ramble, so bare with me! Here is a little about me, I was born in Robbinsdale and I have never done anything like this before in my life.
I have always been in multiple sports all year round, I did soccer, track, cross-country, and hockey (since third grade!).

I think hockey was avery different activty to be apart of. I always loved going to pradaes and seeing the queen's and princesses on the floats, and I always wanted to be one of them. Now when I found out about the program I thought, "Oh! that would be so fun!"
So finally I decided I am going to do something I have always wanted to do, run for the Royalty. I was really nervous about going into something that I had never done before, this was way out of my comfort zone. I was scared if I would get along with the girls who were running since i knew them, just not very well. The first time i showed up at the bowling I was late because I thought it was at the Monticello bowling alley, which I was way wrong! I show up and I thought hmm, wouldn't it suck if I was in the wrong place. Guess what? I was! How embarrassing for the first event and I go to the wrong place and show up late what a great first impression.
All the nerves of meeting the girls were gone from my intense drive from Monticello to St. Michael in under 10 minutes. When i arrived the booths were filled, but the girls happily made room and gave me nothing but smiles. I thought well this is not bad at all everyone is so nice! Bowling was a blast I got to know the girls better and started to feel really confident about my decision to be apart of the program. The next event was beauty tips and etiquette which I learned a lot form our Mrs. Minnesota and got to know the girls a lot better from bonding after a traumatic hail storm event.
The next event was my favorite, the 12 hour Rock-a-Thon.
THIS is where you really bond. I can honestly say every single girl running deserves to win queen. Every girl has something very unique and fun about them, plus they are super nice.
There we were trapped in the eating area for three hours in Coborns just making the most of the terrible weather when they asked us if we wanted to call it quits early every girl said no way! We are a kind of family and we all get along like we have been friends for years.
The next event I was really bummed to miss because it was the parade, and lucky me, I woke up with the flu and now has turned into a sever cold and my voice is GONE! The pictures of the parade looked very fun at-least though! My over all experience with the Royalty has been wonderful. I would not trade it for anything one of the best choices I have ever done. Win or lose, I will not regret my decision to run.
To all you girls who want to run and are to scared to– go for it! That was me. I took a shot and it has become one of the funnest things i have done in a long time. I will be sad when it's over, but I know that this is one decision I will never regret.
Have a wonderful day,
Alysia Scott - Royalty Candidate
