NET Training & Team Selections

NET training continues as I learn more about what it means to be a missionary and discover who I will be serving with these next 9 months across the United States.

On August 15th, all 120 Netters were finally united together! What a rush it was trying to get to know everyone and meet so new people every day.

For the first few days, it was pretty laid back and focused a lot on trying to get to know one another, but after 3 days we left the NET Center and, for the last 2 weeks, we have been at a camp in Amery, Wisconsin for the first part of intense NET training. With countless hours of talks and notes taken throughout each day, it was definitely a rush of information that was truly enlightening.

The general focus of training covered a broad number of topics, but at its core focused on our personal relationships with Christ. It's easy to get caught up in doing things, like putting on retreats, skits and hanging out with teens, but this ministry is different. As much as it is focused on relational ministry and proclaiming the Gospel, they want to make sure that the missionaries themselves are centered on the Lord and strong in our faith. Throughout training and the past 2 weeks, I honestly have felt so at home. It amazes me everyday how the men here are such gentlemen. I rarely open a door as the men have just stepped up here and honor us so very much. I have never seen anything like it! Chivilry is so prevalent, yet not rooted in them attempted to gain our affection, but in a desire to honor us as women.

While at training in Wisconsin, I stayed in a "dorm cabin" with around 6 other young women (Our Ladies Small Group) who I got to know quite well, and love. (I posted some pictures of us, check them out). We grew together in faith, shared our life stories and bonded as we laughed, cried and rejoiced. I don't think I'll ever be able to forget Allie, Ali, Ashley, Emily, Sarah and Stephanie. As camp came to a conclusion just a few days ago, our little small group family came to a conclusion as well.

On September 9th at 8pm, we had Team Announcement Night. I found out then which team I would be on, as well as the young men and women who I would be sharing my life with for the next 9 months. Ana-Alicia, Caitlin, Cathy, Karina, Loretta, Madi and I make up the women on our team. Bubba (James), Israel, Keegan, Nick and Shehan make up the men and in just 3 weeks we will set out across the US! Though we don't yet know exactly where we will be going, we are so excited to further get to know one another and grow in holiness together.

Prayer Intentions: (If you would like, I would especially like prayers for)

  • For my team, that we will continue bonding and growing closer.
  • For the teens, that they will open up their hearts to the Lord.
  • For NET staff, that they may continue to be guided by Christ.
  • If YOU have any specific prayer intentions that you would like me and the other Netters to pray for, please comment them below.
    God bless and keep praying!
