Spring Home Maintenance Tips
Even if you are not ready for summer, that doesn't mean your home can't be! Check out these easy tips to keep your home in tip-top shape this year!
It’s true! Whether the weather reflects it or not, spring has officially sprung! As we are finally closing one of the longest winters I can remember; I can’t help but day-dream about sunshine, fresh air, barbeques, lake trips and baseball! Long winters like these have a tendency to wear us down both mentally and physically. It is important to remember that while we are sprucing up our bods and our ‘tudes for summer, we should also give our homes a little tune up!
There are several easy things that you can do to make sure that your home is in tip-top condition as we move into summer (even if our bodies and attitudes aren’t quite there yet!).
Visually inspect your roof! Make sure there are not any loose or missing shingles.

Make sure all of your gutters are properly attached and un-clogged! If you didn’t clean them out last fall, be sure to get all of those leaves and other unwanted debris out before the rain comes!
Change your filters! Replace your furnace filter and be sure to clean your air exchanger filter.

Clean up your air conditioners! Clean out any debris that has gathered in your air conditioning units.
Wash your windows and doors! Not only will this allow more of that sunshine that we see so little of into our homes, but it will allow you to check for any cracks or broken seals that should be repaired.
Trim trees and shrubs! According to HGTV.com, branches and shrubs that are too close to the home can encourage mildew growth and dampness.
Don’t forget to check out your lawn equipment! Make sure all of your summer lawn toys are gassed up and ready to roll.
Remember, maintaining your home is key in keeping the value of your home as high as possible. Not only will these tips get you thinking about summer, but they really are necessary for the re-sale of your home in the future!
