St. Michael Daze & Knights 2011 Attractions and 2012 Changes!

Marissa Partridge highlights the attractions of the 2011 St. Michael Daze & Knights Festival and announces the date change for the 2012 festival.

After five years, the St. Michael Daze & Knights Festival will be changing our dates to ensure that we can bring our community a spectacular carnival every year. We know this is something that we've struggled to do in the past.

I can tell you that moving the dates was carefully considered by our committee. It wasn't an easy decision but it is the right one. The new St. Michael Daze & Knights Festival dates will always be the weekend after July fourth. Next year's dates will be July 6-8th, 2012 and will feature a great carnival!

This year, we've gone in a new direction as well. We wanted to see if our festival would benefit from an array of inflatables. We've booked 15 different kinds that will meet the needs of youngsters and grown ups alike.

We are also welcoming the Family Fun Circus. They will perform under the big top on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please tell us if you enjoy these attractions because we sincerely want to provide "something for everyone" at our festival.

Of course, our festival favorites such as the Parade and Walton's Hollow Petting Zoo, will be returning.

We have great bands on both Friday and Saturday night. Through the years, our community has requested Section 30 and I'm proud to announce they will be Saturday's headliner! In addition, the Tim Sigler Band is sure to kick off a rowdy festival on Friday evening.

So come on out, enjoy the new attractions and the old ones! Remember that our dates will change next year so that we can bring you the best carnival yet.

Finally, I want to thank our Titanium Level Sponsors: Central Bank, City of St. Michael, Grand Casino Mille Lacs, Great Northern Bank, Partners in Pediatrics - Rogers, and Veolia Water. We appreciate your support of our community!
