Despite Warnings, St. Michael Area Residents Can Travel Safe

In light of recent events, the U.S. Department of State has issueda worldwide travel alert, encouraging U.S. citizens to be more cautious when they travel.

This alert does not encourage U.S. citizens to not travel. Rather, it advises them to exercise the proper precautions when traveling. The travel alert urges citizens to limit travel to areas where recent events could cause anti-American violence, including mass gatherings and demonstrations.

It also encourages American citizens to stay current with media coverage or local events and be aware of their surroundings at all times.

Most travel agencies in the St. Michael-Albertville area make sure they are aware of all alerts issued by the State Department, and pass those warnings on to customers who are planning a trip either for work or for a vacation.

As always travelers should use common sense and be aware of their surroundings when vacationing anywhere.
