Joey Bongaarts died just after his 21st Birthday in a tragic accident. He was a much-loved young man that his friends and family did not want to forget.

Joey was an avid bowler, worked at the bowling alley, taught bowling and loved a friendly but competitive bowling game. At the urging of River Lanes, the fundraiser began.

Since Joey loved kids, and kids loved him, his family has included more than just bowlers as the recipients of the scholarship money. The local schools now benefit from the funds raised at this event.

Last year this scholarship fund received its 503(c) designation allowing the event to give over $10,000 in scholarship money. All the scholarships were given out in the spring.

If you are interested in making a donation either in the form of raffle prizes or money go to WWW.BowlingforJoey.com.

If you are interested in helping with this event go to WWW.BowlingforJoey.com. Volunteers are always needed the day of the event. This fundraiser organization works most of the year in preparing for the event and as soon as the day is done work begins for the next year. We could really use your help!

Remember you don’t have to bowl to participate. If you can’t come but want to donate go to WWW.BowlingforJoey.com

We hope to see all of you on Saturday, March 3rd  at the River Lanes in St. Michael.
