What is the role of adults at Story Time?
An adult bringing a child to Story Time must remain in the building throughout the duration of the program, and an adult must remain with babies and toddlers in the program itself. Please save snacks and toys for later.
What can parents and care givers expect from Story Time?
Story Time programs introduce young children to books, rhymes, music and other fun activities. Before children can read books, they need to master key skills. The National Institute for Literacy has identified a number of building blocks that prepare children for reading.
The key components of reading readiness include:
Familiarity with print and books, Letter recognition, Sounds of speech (phonological awareness)
