Knights 9AAA Claim 10A Tournament Championship on Father’s Day
STMA Knights 9AAA traveling baseball take first place at Mankato Royals Classic 10A Tournament

After a second place win in the 2012 Father Hennepin Classic 10AA Tournament two weekends ago STMA steps it up proving they have what it takes to win. St. Michael-Albertville’s 9AAA Traveling Baseball Team fought through the simmering heat, pouring rain and multiple lightening delays to win the Mankato Royals Classic 10A Tournament on May 17, 2012. Great baseball and a first place trophy made for an unbeatable Father’s Day.
STMA played Rochester and Mankato Maroon Saturday and Belle Plaine Sunday to advance to the semi-finals. As first seed, Sunday’s semi-final’s had them facing the wildcard team, Mankato Maroon, once again. With a 3-1 win STMA advanced to the championship game against Sleepy Eye. The Knights played great defense and gave their Dad’s the best Father’s Day present possible, a championship win!
In the championship game versus Sleepy Eye STMA was led at the plate by Jack Denne, who went 2-2 with a single in both the 1st and 6th innings. Kameron Czech recorded the 4-2 win for STMA pitching three shutout innings. Czech struck out one, walked one and gave up two hits. Jordan Krupke scored one run in the 1st inning followed by two runs scored by Denne and Boston Merila in the 4th. The final run went to Denne in the 6th.
