Knights Baseball Loses Regular-Season Finale
St. Michael-Albertville falls 2-1 at St. Cloud Tech, now prepares for the section playoffs.

The St. Michael-Albertville baseball team concluded its regular season with a loss on Thursday and now joins the Knights golf squads in preparing for the postseason.

A 2-1 loss at St. Cloud Tech sent the St. Michael-Albertville baseball team into the playoffs with a 12-8 overall record.

The Knights logged six hits to Tech's four, but managed just a lone run in the second inning as Tyler Dallum drove home Dain Krutzig to give the visitors a temporary 1-0 lead.
Tech took control of the contest with a two-run fourth inning and never looked back to make a hard-luck loser of pitcher Jacob Dzubay, who went the distance and gave up just one earned run while striking out five and walking two.

STMA now moves on to the Section 8AAA Tournament, with seedings and matchups to be announced on Friday and first-round games to being May 30.
Golf: Section 7AAA Tournaments Up Next For Knights
The St. Michael-Albertville golf teams are preparing for their respective Section 7AAA Tournaments, with the girls to play at Princeton on May 30 and June 2 as the boys compete at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids on May 31.
The Knights girls finished fourth in the Mississippi 8 standings this season, concluding the regular season at Fox Hollow on Tuesday with a season-low 378.
Sam Wortman finished fifth in the finale with a 91, while Kylie Slavin tied for 11th with a 92. Both Wortman and Slavin earned all-conference honors, while Kate Drimel was all-conference honorable mention.
