Knights Baseball Remains In First-Place Conference Tie

St. Michael-Albertville hold onto its prospective share of Mississippi 8 crown.

As the seventh week of the spring sports campaign meant an end to the regular-season for several St. Michael-Albertville squads, the Knights baseball team still has another four games to hold onto its share of the Mississippi 8 Conference title.

Baseball: Knights 5, Princeton 4

A 5-4 defeat of Mississippi 8 rival Princeton on Monday kept the St. Michael-Albertville baseball team knotted with Buffalo for first place in the conference championship chase.

The Knights head into a non-conference game on Wednesday versus Grand Rapids with a 10-6 overall record and a 10-4 circuit mark.

Christian Lemke deove in two runs, while Tyler Dallum went 2-for-3 in the Princeton win as pitcher Jacob Dzubay earned the complete-game victory by scattering six hits and four runs over seven innings of work.

Softball: Knights 7, Princeton 6

The St. Michael-Albertville softball team held off Princeton to win 7-6 on Monday in its second-to-last regular-season game.

Individual statistics were not available. The Knights improved to 11-8 overall and 9-6 in the Mississippi 8, with one final pre-playoff game remaining as Monticello pays a visit on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Boys Golf: Knights Third In Conference Meet

The St. Michael-Albertville boys golf team finished third in a Mississippi 8 meet at Princeton Golf Course on Monday, carding a 323. Individual statistics were not available.

Girls Golf: Knights Fifth At Riverwood National

A score of 223 earned the St. Michael-Albertville girls golf team a fifth-place finish in a Mississippi 8 meet at Riverwood National on Monday. Individual statistics were not available.

Boys Tennis: Mound-Westonka 7, Knights 0

The St. Michael-Albertville boys tennis team closed out the regular season with a 7-0 loss to Mound-Westonka in a non-conference match on Tuesday. Individual results were not available. 

The Knights finished their pre-playoff schedule with a 7-12 overall record and were fourth in the Mississippi 8 standings with a 4-3 record.

The Section 8AA Tournament begins on May 24.
