Knights Split With Big Lake
St. Michael-Albertville baseball tops Hornets, softball comes up short on Thursday.

Thursday was far from an ideal day for a ballgame, but the St. Michael-Albertville teams will take what they can get and hit the fields against Mississippi 8 Conference rival Big Lake and split its baseball and softball matchups against the Hornets.
Baseball: Knights 4, Big Lake 1
The St. Michael-Albertville baseball team improved to 3-4 on the season by means of a 4-1 home win versus Big Lake, handing the Hornets their first conference loss of the season.

The victory was the second in a row for the Knights, who had topped Rogers by a 10-3 score on Tuesday.

STMA is scheduled to travel to Princeton for a 4:30 p.m. game on Monday.
Softball: Big Lake 12, Knights 3
A 12-3 loss to visiting Big Lake dropped the St. Michael-Albertville softball team to 4-3 on the season.
Heading into the game, Nikki Vetsch led the Knights with six RBI in as many games and was tied for the team batting lead with Kelsey Blank as both players were sporting a .389 average prior to the Hornets game.
STMA is slated to head to Princeton for a 4:30 p.m. start on Monday.
Boys Golf: STMA Fifth In Conference Meet
The St. Michael-Albertville boys golf team placed fifth in Thursday's Mississippi 8 Confefence meet at Wild Marsh with a team score of 340. Individual results werenot available.
