The Minnesota Department of Commerce and Department of Health are warning Minnesotans about COVID-19 contact tracing text scams that have arisen in recent weeks.

Contact tracing is a key tool used by Public Health employees to slow the spread of an infectious disease. Public Health workers contact those who have been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19 by phone, not text.
