December 1, 2020

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has announced that it has completed its 2020 work on I-94 between St. Michael and Albertville for this construction season. All four lanes will remain as they are between the Crow River Bridge in St. Michael and Co. Rd. 19 and work will resume in the spring. Barriers that are still located along that stretch of road will remain there throughout the winter. Reduced speed limits on the eastbound lanes will remain.

In the spring, the lane configuration that drivers experienced this summer and fall will return as it was this year, with all lanes shifted to the westbound lanes while work is finished on the eastbound lanes. After crews have completed the eastbound lanes, traffic will be switched to the new lanes while crews complete the westbound lanes. The project is expected to be completed in late summer 2021.
