Minnesota Ranks No. 1 In Census Response Percentage

Wright County ranks 77th among counties in the nation at 74.7 percent of Census forms completed.

Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, the United States Census is continuing to count the population and Minnesota is leading the way in percentage of responses already received, according to the Census monitoring website publictableau.com.

Minnesota ranks No. 1 among states with a response rate at 70.9 percent, followed by Wisconsin (68.4 percent), Michigan (67.7 percent) and Iowa (67.7 percent.). The national average is 61.4 percent.

Wright County ranks 77th among counties in the nation at 74.7 percent of Census forms completed. While better than the state average, it trails 12 other Minnesota counties, including Carver (80.8 percent), Washington (80.1), Dakota (78.7), Nicollet (78.4), Sherburne (76.7), Chisago (76.7), McLeod (76.5), Isanti (76.3), Goodhue (75.7), Rock (75.5), Brown (75.5) and Hennepin (74.9).
