MN Officials To Hold Pesticide Recertification Workshop For Wright County Farmers

Extension Office to Host Pesticide Recertification Workshop for Farmers Feb. 10

The University of Minnesota Extension Office and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture will be conducting a private pesticide recertification workshop from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10 in Room 120 of the Wright County Government Center.

The workshop is intended for farmers that need to be recertified as private pesticide applicators. Farmers need recertification every three years under state law.

Workshop topics include pesticide laws and regulations, transportation, storage and emergency situations, herbicide residuals and cover crops, laundering pesticide-contaminated clothing, current crop/pest issues and integrated pest management.

The fee for the workshop is $75. A photo I.D. is required for recertification. Bringing along one’s Private Pesticide Application Certification I.D. card or I.D. number will assist with the registration process.
