Newly "Capped" Jr. Commodore Maverick shares his thoughts...

On Saturday, my family and I went to the Friendly City Days carnival. The first thing we did was visit the royalty Root Beer float stand. Even though I did not have a float, all of my sisters did! I was excited to hit the rides so Jr Commodore Braden and I went looking for some fun. We found my favorite ride, the bumper cars. Luckily Braden was tall enough to be the driver. We rode 2 times. We also went on a spaceship ride and took a trip down the fun slide. It was all super fun. Next it was off to eat at the royalty spaghetti dinner. The Sr candidates had to serve the food and they scooped up a ton of noodles for me. The meatballs were awesome. On stage I got to introduce myself to all the people eating dinner.

I was really looking forward to riding in the parade with my Sr buddy Callie and Jr candidate Maddy on a cool car. It was raining but it was still fun. Everyone was waving at us and smiling. There were lots and lots of people standing and sitting out in the rain just to watch the parade. Even some dogs came to watch. I got all dressed up in a suit and my sisters said I looked fancy.

We had a little bit of time in between the parade and the coronation so we went and had some lunch at McDonalds.

Coronation started at 4:30. All of the Sr and Jr candidates were introduced again on stage and then we got to listen to farewell speeches from the current court and a watch a video of what they did for the past year. They did tons of stuff and my favorite pictures were the ones of them playing in mud. They were a mess. At the end of the program, the new court was picked. The Jr Commodores were picked first. Jacob got the first cap, and Jr Commodore Braden put the second one on me. I was really surprised and happy. My twin sister Holland was crowned a Jr Miss Albertville. I was so happy for her and I thought she was going to cry. Jr candidate Maddy was also crowned a Jr Miss Albertville. The best part of being a candidate was meeting new friends and getting to share it with my sister. Now we get to spend the summer parading together and I can’t wait. We will be doing lots of parades and taking a lot of pictures apparently. I think it will be fun getting to known Queen Sydney and Princess’ Brittney and Katie better too. We will all be spending a lot of time together.
