North Wright County RiverHawks Girls Take u14 State Hockey Crown

The under-14 girls, with players from St. Michael, Albertville and Monticello, skated to glory in Woodbury.

The North Wright County RiverHawks skated into Woodbury as the No. 2 team frmo its region, but finished on top of the whole state after breaking through for the state championship in the  Minnesota State Hockey Tournament this weekend. 
They girls' team, which includes players from St. Michael, Albertville, Monticello and Annandale-Maple Lake, opened with a win over Roseau 2-1 on Friday.

Saturday, the girls avenged a regional loss to Wayzata and won  in the state seminfinal 1-0. The girls played in the state championship game against Centennial and pulled out a 3-1  win, crowning them the U14 State Hockey Champions. 

The 2011 squad is Paige Voight, Marina Chapman, Alex LaMere, Julia Bogenholm, Mikayla Habel, Maddie Young, Sydney Renzaglia, Anne Marie Harald, Felicia Mix, Mackenzie Johnson, Aubree Johnson, Annie Boeckers, Heidi Prebonich, Rachel King.
