Options For Wright County Voters Who Are Looking To Vote Early, Absentee Or By Mail

In the Minnesota Primary Election last week, a record number of Minnesotans cast votes, despite there not being a contentious statewide contest that typically brings and uptick to the numbers. In a typical primary, approximately 10 percent of eligible voters turn out. In this year’s Minnesota primary, 916,000 Minnesotans voted (22.5 percent). Of those, 60 percent of the total vote was done remotely – either by in-person absentee voting prior to the election or by mail-in vote.

With record numbers of voters opting to vote early absentee or mail-in voting, the Wright County Auditor/Treasurer’s office has announced that those who wish to vote absentee or by mail-in for the Nov. 3 general election – when numbers in Wright County are expected to exceed 80 percent – applications can be accessed one of two ways for those who want to avoid expected crowds at polling places.
