This past Saturday Albertville Royalty had the opportunity to sponsor a little girl through the Make a Wish Foundation. Her wish was to be queen for a day, and boy was she in for a real treat. The morning of, she got her hair professionally done at Inspiration Salon in Albertville. At first, Alexis, our queen for the day, was pretty shy. As we asked her questions and got to know her she really opened up. While she got her hair done, us big girls took turns painting her nails. A pretty pink with purple sparkles on top. After she got all done up, we headed over to Perkins for breakfast. There, Alexis really opened up. It was fun to see her crazy side and get to know her more. My favorite part of the day is after breakfast when she kind of pulled me to the side and said "Katie, would you help me put on my beautiful dress that I have picked out today?!" It was so heart melting and I couldn't help but to smile. We got her dress on and proceeded to take pictures outside. I was so thankful a friend of mine, Chris Duke, was willing to donate his time and take professional pictures of her special day. We attended the Osseo parade that day as well. Once we got there, Alexis wanted nothing more than to set that float up, and once we were done with the parade she wanted nothing more but to tear it back down. After the long hot day we caravaned to Dairy Queen for a sweet treat and to give Alexis her presents. It was a fun day I will never forget.
