St. Michael Walgreens Opens On Schedule

A steady stream of traffic was seen going in and out of the parking lot at Walgreens on their second day of business, Monday. The store had been open less than 48 hours but already looked like an established part of the community.

Amber Rannow, of St. Michael was waiting in the pharmacy Monday afternoon. “Where I grew up [Sauk Rapids] we had only Walgreens and Coborns so I think it’s pretty awesome [that we have a Walgreens],” she said. “I think people around here are pretty excited about it too.”

“I’m just excited we have another well-known business in town,” Janice Long, of Albertville said, while shopping for household goods Monday.

Anna, a Walgreens employee who lives in St. Michael said even she was surprised how busy the store already was. “We expected our first couple days to be slow. People aren’t always sure when businesses are open yet but we’ve been steady.”

“I even had some photo customers yesterday.” Anna said.
