The Minnesota Kings kick off their first official season at home in St. Michael with games both days this weekend.

The Minnesota Kings men's team will open their 2011 National Premier Soccer League schedule this weekend with a pair of games in St. Michael.

The 2011 season officially kicks off this Saturday, May 21st at 5:00pm as the Kings play host to the 2010 Midwest Division Champion, Madison 56ers. The 56ers come to town after opening their season with a 2-2 draw with Quad City.

It's going to be an exciting weekend for the team," said men's head coach Brad Fewell. "We have been working hard in pre-season in an effort to be prepared for Madison on Saturday. Madison won the league last season and we know them to be just as strong this season. Milwaukee will also offer the same difficult challenges. Fortunately I have a fully fit squad for the weekends' games, which means we will be ready"
