The News Kids Wanted to Hear: No School in St. Michael-Albertville Today

The northwest metro caught the southern tip of a storm that has interstates closed at the North Dakota border and buried Brainerd with more than a foot of snow.

Enjoy the day off, students!

St. Michael-Albertville School District buildings and the St. Michael Catholic School are closed today.

Last night, around 9 p.m., the precipitation falling in St. Michael switched from rain to sleet, and roads were covered with a glaze of ice. The precip eventually fully changed over to snow, dropping about three inches of snow on the STMA area thus far, with a total of four to six inches expected by the time this storm leaves mid-morning.
