Two Men Arrested in Rogers For Attempting to Steal Copper

Hennepin County released a statement Wednesday regarding two men who were arrested after attempting to steal copper from a Rogers business.

Two men have been arrested after attempting to remove copper from a business in Rogers.Β  On August 31, at approximately 11:19 p.m., officers from the Rogers Police Department and a deputy and K-9 from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a security alarm at nderson Iron Works in the 12,000 block of Wilfred Lane North, Rogers.

Upon arrival, a woman told officers that she was at the location with two men and she said that one of them had stolen copper from the business in the past. The deputy and K-9 located the two men on the ground near an electrical junction box outside of the building.Β  They had two backpacks that contained numerous tools including; a power puller, a voltage meter, a screw driver, crowbar, flashlight, wire cutter, socket and socket wrenches, a handsaw, and a bolt cutter.

Shane Timothy Miller of Circle Pines and Jason Allen Barton of Andover were arrested. They have both been chargedΒ yesterday with possession of
burglary or theft tools, a felony.
