The Special Needs Fund at Wright County Health and Human Services can meet the needs of families and individuals when no other program or community resource can be found to meet the need. Over the past year, this fund has assisted with a variety of needs, including medication, housing, transportation, home repairs, and a new refrigerator for a family. All other resources are explored by Wright County Health and Human Services staff prior to the use of the Special Needs Fund in order to reserve these funds for those situations when there are no other options. The Special Needs Fund can be used to assist someone with overcoming barriers to having their basic needs met. This is made possible by generous donations from various funding sources including Wright County Area United Way, the Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association’s “Operation Roundup” and donations from local church or civic groups
