The $9.8 million project, which began in April 2020, includes added lanes for increased capacity, intersection improvements (added lanes exiting the Outlet Mall & roundabouts at other intersections), improvements to city underground utilities, and new pedestrian trails along the highway 19 and highway 38 corridors.

The project was a collaborative effort between many agencies and was funded with a combination of federal funds, county state aid (gas-tax) funds; local funds from the cities of Albertville & Otsego; and Joint Powers Water funds.
