Wright County License Bureau Announces New Appointment Schedule, Office Hours Changes
Walk-ins are welcome, but residents are advised that those with appointments are served first at their scheduled times.

At 8 a.m. today (Oct. 30), the Wright County License Bureau opened hundreds of new driver’s license appointment slots, which can be accessed on the main page of the county website (www.co.wright.mn.us).

License Bureau staff was residents to be aware of temporary changes to the scheduling of appointments. First, the office is undergoing a changeover from the failed MNLARS registration software to MNDRIVE – a new system that staff is learning and, in the initial phase, will take some getting used to since more data needs to be entered with each transaction. As a result, the appointment schedule will run from Monday, Nov. 16 to Friday, Dec. 4 and, instead of 90 appointments per day, there will be 60 up to the point that staff has acclimated itself to the new software.
Typically, new appointments are scheduled in two week intervals, but because the License Bureau will be shut down Wednesday, Nov. 11 to Friday, Nov. 13 to install the new software, the scheduling is for three weeks. The reason behind that is that the office will be closed three days for software installation, as well as Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving when county offices are closed.

In an attempt to meet residents needs while the DMV is closed Nov. 11-13 (Nov. 11 is Veterans Day and the office would have been closed anyway, which is why the state chose those three days for MNDRIVE installation), on Monday, Nov. 9 and Tuesday, Nov. 10 the office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. – both for inside driver’s license appointments and outside transactions not involving license renewals (tabs, plates, title transfers, etc.).
