Wright County Sheriff Warns Public on Dangers of Driving Through Red Lights
Wright County Sheriff Joe Hagerty: "Our concern is public safety and drivers who disregard traffic control devices put themselves and others at risk."

Wright County Sheriff Joe Hagerty reports concerns from the public regarding vehicles traveling through intersections against red lights.
“With the increased number of traffic control signals on our expanding roadways throughout Wright County, deputies have increasingly responded to property and personal injury crashes relating to motorists disobeying those signals," Hagerty said, according to a press release.

In a public safety effort, during the month of April, deputies will be proactively monitoring semaphore controlled intersections. The offense is a petty misdemeanor and will result in a fine exceeding $100.
“Our concern is public safety and drivers who disregard traffic control devices put themselves and others at risk. We appreciate the public’s assistance in our on-going traffic safety efforts," Hagerty said.
